Nucleus Dorsomedialis Anterior Thalami

The rostral dorsolateral aspect of Nucleus dorsomedialis anterior thalami and the dorsal aspect of nucleus dorsolateralis pars medialis are partially comparable to the mammalian intralaminar nuclei, sharing connections to non-limbic 'corticoid' areas (the Wulst), and the reticular thalamic nuclei..

Cocultures of the learning-relevant forebrain region mediorostral neostriatum and hyperstriatum ventrale (MNH) and its main glutamatergic input area Nucleus dorsomedialis anterior thalami/posterior thalami were morphologically and physiologically characterized.

The DTZ is located dorsomedially in the diencephalon of birds and consists of several subnuclei: Nucleus dorsomedialis anterior thalami (DMA), nucleus dorsomedialis posterior thalami (DMP), nucleus dorsolateralis anterior thalami, pars medialis (DLM), nucleus dorsointermedius posterior thalami (DIP), nucleus dorsolateralis posterior thalami (DLP), and nucleus subhabenularis lateralis (SHL).

ir-cGnRH I cells were located: along the medial aspect of the ventriculus lateralis, nucleus accumbens, and bed nucleus of the stria terminalis; ventral to the tractus septomesencephalicus and extending medially to the third ventricle, and caudally into the lateral hypothalamic area; and in a diffuse band extending from the nucleus preopticus medialis to the Nucleus dorsomedialis anterior thalami.

The highest densities of binding sites were observed in the hyperstriatum dorsale, archistriatum, auditory field L of neostriatum, area corticoidea dorsolateralis and temporo-parieto-occipitalis, area parahippocampalis, tectum opticum, Nucleus dorsomedialis anterior thalami, and in the periventricular area of the hypothalamus.
